Under the umbrella of Ascutney Winds, SCIP, and Albert Bridge School, Brownsville welcomes the return of the Umbrella Concert Series. In 2018, two concerts are on offer for Brownsville: the New England Brass Band on July 3rd, and Amherst Jazz Orchestra on August 18th.
These concerts are part of a continuing series put on by Ascutney Winds, a non-profit that brings professional musicians to the communities surrounding Mt. Ascutney. Later in the summer, on August 18th, return to Brownsville for a “Kick Off Your Shoes and Dance” concert, featuring the big band sounds of the Amherst Jazz Orchestra, which played in Brownsville last year to great result. This year, the ensemble returns to Brownsville with a dance set; a special dance floor will be part of the setup for anyone who finds his or her body already swaying to the sounds. Pack a picnic and blanket or chair, bring your family, and kick off your shoes and dance! Concert begins at 4:30.
